Detour JazFunk

Detour JazFunk is the sound of Chicago’s new urban jazz scene. Its music is built on a foundation of old-school R&B’s soulful and funky grooves blended with the melodic improvisations of classic and contemporary jazz. Detour JazFunk includes guitarist Phil Seed, drummer Ben “Jammin” Johnson, electric bassist Kenery Kent Smith and keyboard wizard Tim Gant.
Bill Boris

The Bill Boris Group combines elements of straight-ahead jazz, funk and R&B. The group performs original compositions along with jazz standards. Bill has played with Charles Earland, David “Fathead” Newman, Arthur Prysock, Eric Alexander and Tony Monaco. He’s performed at the Barbados Jazz Festival, the Kaunas Jazz Festival (Lithuania), Szczecin Jazz Festival (Poland) and South Shore Jazz Festival.
Greg Duncan

Trumpeter Greg Duncan has developed one of the best jazz groups in the city since his arrival in 2004. Known for a solid swing feel and edgy groove, the Greg Duncan Quintet released its debut CD entitled Unveiled in 2007 on the OA2 record label. The group has recently performed in Spain and added flamenco jazz songs to their growing list of originals and standards.
Chicago OGD

The Chicago OGD covers it all: smooth jazz, jazz standards, today’s dance music, the blues and original material. OGD is an acronym for Organ (Darryl Armistead), Guitar(Barry White), and Drums(Frank Neigel). OGD exemplifies the soulful, funky, hard bop sounds of Philly organ jazz made famous by Jimmy Simth, Jack McDuff, and Joey DeFrancesco.
Petra Van Nuis

Petra has performed at such prominent venues as the Chicago Cultural Center, the Green Mill, Pops for Champagne, the Pump Room, Katerina’s, and Andy’s Jazz Club. Inspired by such jazz vocal greats as Peggy Lee, Billie Holiday and Julie London, Petra opts for a straightforward swinging delivery with an emphasis on feeling.
Rio Bamba

The Rio Bamba sound is a unique blend of bossa nova, samba, American and Latin jazz, played by world-class musicians. The group moves easily from classic and swinging jazz, vocal or instrumental, to Brazilian samba that brings everyone to the dance floor with its irresistible rhythms. Maggie Vagle, Joel Martinez, Craig Linenberger and John Garvey make up the Rio Bamba sound.
Lake Effect

Lake Effect is the smooth jazz band created by keyboardist Neil Artwick, and guitarist Robert Davis. Elegant compositions with attention to melodic detail and compelling liquid grooves are the trademarks of the Lake Effect sound. The band also features drummer Khari Parker, bassist Lemar Jones and guest vocalist. Together they bring you a unique blend of R&B, latin, soul, and jazz.
PJM Jazz/Pat Mallinger Trio

Pat Mallinger is a Chicago jazz institution, co-leading the two-tenor quartet Sabertooth on Saturday nights at the Green Mill for 18 years. Pat performs nationally and internationally both as a band leader and side man. He has played with such greats as Joe Williams, Nancy Wilson, Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Harry Connick, Ramsey Lewis, Aretha Franklin, Cab Calloway — and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
