Shedd Explorers: Summer Road Trip (for middle-school students, ages 11-14)
Are you ready to explore the great outdoors? Join us this summer for a week of excitement and exploration. We’ll use the aquarium as our home base as we depart for a new adventure each day. Outdoor activities and environmental investigations will open up your minds as we travel to a new destination daily. The week will end with an overnight stay at the aquarium!

Summer Worlds Tour
The Summer Worlds Tour summer camp is for children entering kindergarten through fifth grade in the fall of 2013. Campers will explore other worlds in our galaxy as an astronomer at Adler Planetarium, discover the wonders of the natural world at the Field Museum and become an aquatic scientist while exploring underwater environments at Shedd Aquarium. Activities include investigating exhibits, creating original art projects, playing learning games and having lunch along the shoreline of Lake Michigan.

Each camp session runs Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
$295 per person ($265 for Shedd, Field, or Adler members)

Asleep with the Fishes Group Overnights
Grab your pajamas and sleeping bag, and join us for a nighttime aquatic adventure with your favorite Shedd animals. Before snuggling into your sleeping bag, immerse yourself in the underwater world with special experiences, games and hands-on activities. Rise with the sun, enjoy a continental breakfast and check out how your aquatic friends start the day. These programs are geared for young people ages 6 to 12.

Join other pre-teens and teens (middle and high school students) in the Chicago area to explore local ecosystems while earning service learning hours! Spend a day outdoors monitoring, maintaining, and improving habitats so you, your community, and our native animals all have green spaces to enjoy. Past events included an invasive species removal stewardship activity followed by canoeing in the Skokie Lagoons.

Program includes: Lunch, snacks, and transportation to and from the field site.
What to bring: Optional lunch, water bottle, appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather.
Service hours: Seven service learning hours (only applicable for high school students).
New! Shedd Spring Break Camp 2013
Spend your spring break at Shedd learning about animals and exploring local habitats! Children ages 8 to 10 are invited to join us for a week-long adventure that will take them behind the scenes at the aquarium to see firsthand how we care for animals and the environment. They’ll also venture into the great outdoors on day trips to learn more about nature in our own backyard.
