Conservation at Shedd
Conservation at Shedd is about saving wild animals—giving the best care to the vast diversity of species in our collection and protecting their counterparts in the wild. Our dedicated staff members and volunteers travel across the world (and out into our own backyard) to conduct fieldwork with rock iguanas, beluga whales, seahorses and Great Lakes fishes. Through our extensive field research, successful breeding programs and world-class exhibits, we educate our guests about threats to ecosystems and empower them with the knowledge to make the right choices to conserve the natural world around us. This ethic informs everything from the flowers we plant in our gardens and the food we feed our animals to the programs that we lead in schools and the research we conduct in the Bahamas and Philippines.
What Your Support Means
Shedd needs your support to stay at the forefront of the urgent conservation issues facing animals in the wild. It will enable us to conduct research that not only saves animals, but empowers communities and educates the public.
Your gift to the 2012 Annual Fund makes it possible for us to continue our conservation and research efforts around the world, from the Arctic to the Amazon and at home in the Great Lakes.

Maximize Your Impact
Your gift could be doubled! A generous foundation has partnered with Shedd to match gifts from new donors, as well as any increase in gifts from current donors (up to $6,250 per donation). Your new or increased gift through June 30, 2012 helps Shedd meet this exciting challenge. Make a gift today!
